St. Martin's offers much more beyond the regular school day through our Explorers before- and after-school childcare and enrichment program. Explorers is fully licensed by the Georgia State Department of Human Resources, meeting all state requirements for childcare programs.
Because many of our parents have early morning commitments, they can drop off students as early as 7:15 each morning. Students may remain at school in the Explorers program until 6 p.m. At St. Martin's, parents know that each child is in a safe, friendly and comfortable environment.
After school, Explorers teachers greet Pre-K students at their classrooms and escort them to a classroom where they will enjoy a hot lunch, play time, nap time, activity centers, reading activities and games. Outdoor play is scheduled daily, weather permitting. Kindergarten students join them when their school day ends at 2 p.m.
Elementary and Middle School Explorers meet after school in the Commons, where they enjoy a snack and some social time before working on homework or going to the library or computer lab. Teachers supervise games, sports, outdoor play and other activities for the remainder of the afternoon.
Parents also may select from a menu of Enrichment Classes for students through the Explorers program. Any student at St. Martin's may take Explorers classes in arts & crafts, musical instrument instruction, dance, karate, golf, chess and others.
Parents may contract for Explorers daily or as needed.
